HaulageHQ took a look at the Volvo I-Shift gearbox in action over in Norway tackling the Lofoten archipelago. In our opinion the Volvo I-Shift gearbox takes some beating allowing seamless gear changes climbing steep mountains and windy valleys.
I-Shift Dual Clutch and Dynamic Steering are two helpful aids when it comes to steep and winding Norwegian roads.
The Lofoten archipelago in Norway lies 68° in latitude north of the Arctic Circle. The summer weather here is fantastic in the land of the midnight sun. Winters can be extreme however, with freezing dark nights and hurricane winds. Truck driver Ken-Marek is well aware that his job is not without its risks. “But we take precautionary measures, particularly when we know that the weather is going to be bad”. Our job is to transport fish and other vital supplies to the communities up here when everyone else is indoors”, says Ken-Marek.
